There’s No Place Like Home

Bright Star Children’s Theatre, a national professional touring theatre company based in Asheville, NC, will bring L. Frank Baum’s literary classic The Wizard of Oz to life, reminding each of us “There’s no place like home.” After the presentation, audiences will be invited to share memories of their favorite Appalachian homecoming and reunion traditions including those relating to school, church, and family. Like Dorothy, many of us have followed our own yellow brick roads to exciting new places and made wonderful new friends, but we are still drawn to return home. This longing is especially strong in the Appalachian Mountains where home isn’t merely a place, it’s our way of life. BACK TO ALL EVENTS
