The Juneteenth Celebration of Freedom Gospel event commemorates the release of approximately 4 million people of African descent from the bonds of slavery after the end of the Civil War. Booker T. Washington remembered the great day and wrote about it. The event has several re-enactments of this moment when Booker T. Washington took his first breath of freedom along with the other enslaved people on this farm. The event includes a concert of various gospel groups. Children's activities and food vendors are also part of the fun activities on this special day!
