CCC Self-Guided Activities.

Can’t make it to a guided program? Stop by the Discovery Center and pick up a CCC Geocache booklet and go on an adventure throughout the park or take a walk on the new CCC Interpretive trail beginning in Parking Lot 1 and ending at Parking Lot 6.

10:00 a.m. CCC Historical Walk. You have a shovel and a field, what do you do? You clear the way to create a lake. At least in 1936, the Civilian Conservation Corp members did at what is now Hungry Mother State Park. Many of the original CCC structures are still in use today. Which ones you ask? Join an Interpreter as they walk you through history. Meet at Parking Lot 6. FREE

1:00 p.m. - “The day in the life of a CCC Boy”. Ever wonder what it would be like to be a part of the Civilian Conservation Corps? Here’s your chance to participate in the various activities that the young men completed on a daily basis. Meet at the Gazebo area.
