Court Days is a long standing cultural event in Franklin County. It was the day the traveling circuit court judge came to town. It is remembered as a day of meeting friends, making music, trading goods, and "taking care of business". Court Days, 2017 is the 3rd annual event in Downtown Rocky Mount. Multiple activities are planned for the day. To promote the history of family and music, The Early Inn, a historic property in Downtown, will host Rex Stephenson, in costume and in character as John Ingles, to present the story of Mary Ingles who was captured by Indians and eventually returned. A brother/sister team will tell stories of Endicott Families who participated in moonshine activities and enjoyed going to “singings”. Live traditional music, a vintage car display, and free tours of the Early Inn will be available. The day will end with a free headliner concert on the grounds of the Inn.
Concurrent activities planned for The Farmers Market include children and adult activities and games; live traditional music throughout the day by local and regional bands/musicians. There will be plenty of traditional music and room for dancing. Come to Franklin County and make your own memory! BACK TO ALL EVENTS
